                                              Table Building and Sorting
Objectives:
  1.          Use some advanced features of WORD2007 in building and sorting tables.
  2.          Build 3 tables of 17 rows (including the Header Row) and 11 columns.
  3.          Sort two of these 3 tables based on three sorting keys.
  4.          Selecting table styles and evenly distributing columns.
  5.          Insert Hard Page Break. (CTRL-Enter)
 
Steps:
  1.          Open the WORD2007
  2.          After getting a few blank lines, Insert a table after copying the accompanying 2008 AFC Standing (Table).
               a. When you select the entire copied table, the Design Tab will appear which lets you choose a table
                   style. Pick a style to be applied to the table (incomplete).
               b. Complete the table by
·         Deleting the three unnecessary rows.
·         Entering the four AFC Divisions in the first  (empty) column.
·         Distributing the last five columns evenly.
  3.          Increase the font size of the table title and use a different color and Bold.
  4.          Copy the completed table twice. So, you will have three tables.
               The eleven columns will be:
                 Division, Team, W, L, T, Pct, Home, Road, DIV, Conf, and Streak.
  5.          Insert a Hard page break (CTRL-Enter) between every two tables and insert page numbers.
  6.          Sort the second table by W(Win), Conf and Division.  The first key, W, must be used as a descending key. 
               (When you select the entire table (with or without the first “Header” row), the Layout Tab will appear.
                When you click this Tab, you will the Sort button which you need to sort the select table or its portion.)
               The first sorting key must be used in the Descending order.
               Note: If the entire table with the first header row included, you need to indicate that the table has a header
               row before sorting so that the header row is NOT to be sorted.
  7.          Sort the third table by W, Division and Team in that order.
               The first and the second sorting keys each must be used in the descending order.
8.          Enter an appropriate table heading for each table to indicate the sorting keys. And select a different table
             Style for each table.
  9.          Save your document as "AFC2008.DOCX" to turn in a USB containing this document.

  Some useful text selection methods:
  1.          Click the Selection Bar (A line, one at a time)
  2.          Double click (a word).          Triple click (A paragraph)
  3.          Click one end and SHIFT click another end (A large region of text)
  4.          CTRL-A (Whole document)
  5.          SHIFT Home (The Number-Lock must be off: The prefix of current line)
  6.          SHIFT End (The suffix of current line including the current character)
  7.          SHIFT PgDn (Next 24 lines, font-size 10, 1.4" equivalent)
  8.          SHIFT PgUp (Previous 23 lines, 1.4" equivalent)
  9.          ALT-5 (The entire table) The 5 on numeric keypad.
 
  Some useful text movements:
  1.          Home: Start of current line. End: End of current line.
  2.          PgDn: Move 24 lines (Font-size 10) forward.
               PgUp: Move 23 lines backward.
  3.          CTRL-Home: Document beginning.  CTRL-End: Document end.
  4.          CTRL-PgDn: Start of next page.        CTRL-PgUp: Start of previous page.
  5.          TAB:      Next cell of same row, or first cell of next row, or
                               creating  a new row after the last existing row.
  6.          Down-Arrow:         Next cell of same column.
