Objectives
1. Continued use of Powerpoint2007
Presentation application to produce a slide show.
2. Rearranging/editing existing
presentation by
a. adding transition/animation effects
(page-739)
b. inserting an organization chart (by using SmartArt Graphic) with a depth level
of at
least four.
c. rearranging the order of some slides (Slide Sorter
view)
d. Importing a
Word table (by using Insert Tab and "Objects")
e. importing an Excel chart by "Paste Link" so that changes
to the source
Excel file will be automatically
reflected to this imported powerpoint slide.

f. splitting a slide to two. (Promote command under the
Outline Tab)
Steps:
1. Download the folder
"Exploring Powerpoint" available in
"www.prenhall.com/exploring"
2. Download Powerpoint tutorial file (for Powerpoint2003) and select the
Chapter-4
practice-7 powerpoint file that has
ten slides.
3. Add a summary slide after all
slides have been completed.
Swap two slides
as you see fit. (The Summary slide should indicate this swapping).
The total will be
about 15 or 16.
4. Split slide-2 into two
slides.
The first of
these two will have more details on Copyright Protections while
the second will show more details on
Non-protections.
Information you
need for this will be found in a webpage titled:
"US Legal System"
for my other course COSC3325 inside the same website as
our course, namely

5. Insert about 3-4 slides about "Fair
Use" after currently slide-7.
6. The Word table to be imported
(by inserting Objects) will be "My Study Schedule"
included in the above mentioned folder "Exploring Powerpoint."
You may have to
shrink the size of the table before copying and pasting.
7. The Excel chart to be
imported by "Link" will be "Software Sales"
Excel file
included in the same folder as (3) above.
8. Set up at least three
different animation effects to as many slides.
9. Insert an Organization Chart
with a depth level of at least four.
Note on Transition and
Animations
1.
Transition: Movement special effects that takes place as one slide replaces another in
Slide Show view.

(a) fades and Dissolves, (b) Wipes,
(c) Push and Cover, (d) Stripes and Bars ,

(e) Random Effects

After
choosing a
transition effect you desire, you can select a sound to play when the transition
takes effect, a speed for the transition and also choose to have the selected
effect impact all the slides.

Animation: Movements that control the
entrance, emphasis, path and/or exit of individual objects selected on a single
slide.

Animating objects can help focus the
audience’s attention on an important point, can control the flow of information
on a slide, and can help you keep the audience’s
attention.
